Paul and Mary Kennel - Asia
ABOUT
Paul & Mary have served the local church and been involved in international cross-cultural ministry for over 30 years. Most of their ministry has been in Asia and working with helping local Christians reach their communities for Christ. As a couple, we are passionate about reaching families with the hope of Jesus and helping them live their lives as a witness in their communities.
Around the world and in Asia, many families suffer from many forms of relational brokenness, including high divorce rates, staggering abortion rates, trafficking and all forms of abuse. We believe that bringing the healing of Jesus and the hope of the gospel to families will set in motion a transformation of the entire culture. We believe that God has called the family to be the key way of bringing wholeness to the church and people in need by living lives that are according to God’s principles as a family.
In the last few years Mary and Paul have partnered with a ministry in Nepal called Karuna Care. Its mission is to protect children and women from risks including poverty, injustice and exploitation. Karuna Care works with the local church to help children get an education, train widows in a vocation to support themselves, stop trafficking of children, helping street children to be placed in loving families and training of Christians in biblical outreach. All this is called “Repairing Broken Walls†to help share the whole gospel in Nepal.
Karuna Care recently started al a social entrepreneur outreach, called Karuna Coffee. This is a restaurant that is a way to make money to help children at risk and also be a meeting and teaching place to share the gospel in a way that helps the church.
Paul and Mary believe that this is a way to help the people of Asia see God’s love in action. In addition to this, we are called to work with the local church, assisting them through training and partnering with them to raise up and equip new leaders.
Please keep us and the people of Asia in your prayers! We are so grateful that you have chosen to partner with us through prayer, giving and reading our newsletters.
