About
Ronnie & Tammy McLaughlin are Honduran nationals serving as missionaries to Costa Rica for the last 9 years. They are pastoring a church in the community of Hone Creek (near Puerto Viejo) on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica and are currently building a church building and skate park for the community. They have weekly children’s ministry in the local schools, home visitation, bible studies and feeding of the homeless.
Who we are serving
Our community is quite a mixture of cultures; this gives us the opportunity to share the “good life†found in Jesus with people from all over the world. There residents are Indian, various Central, South & North American, and European. There are also lots of people from all over the world who come to visit that we get to minister to as well. Last Mother’s day I shared a message that ended up ended with 2 American soldiers on furlough coming forward to the altar. They were vacationing to “enjoy the good life†& party. Jesus had even better plans for them and they found new life & joy & Pura Vida!
John 10:10 “I came so that everyone would have life, and have it in its fullestâ€
Pura Vida
Pura vida literally means "pure life", but the meaning is closer to "full of life", "purified life", "this is living!", "going great", or "cool!" It can be used as a greeting, as a word of farewell, to express satisfaction, or to politely express indifference when describing something. The phrase has become widely known; this highly flexible statement has been used by many Costa Ricans (and expatriates) since 1956. Costa Ricans use the phrase to express a philosophy of strong community, perseverance, resilience in overcoming difficulties with good spirits, enjoying life slowly, and celebrating good fortune of magnitudes small and large alike.
We believe that real, true & meaningful life comes when we accept Jesus. Pura Vida!!!God bless You!
